To Achieve Equitable Quality Of Care In Nursing Homes, Address Key Workforce Challenges
In the United States, since the start of the pandemic, 5 percent of COVID-19 cases and 36 percent of deaths occurred within long-term care (LTC) facilities, with 12 states experiencing at least half of their deaths linked to long-term care facilities. The tragedy experienced within the LTC system has been attributed to workforce challenges and wide variation in quality of care. The impact of COVOD-19 across LTC facilities has not been uniform.
